This year, my journey is about more than just racing—it’s about making a difference. I am dedicating my 2025 season to the Joanna Sophia Foundation, carrying its mission with me in every swim, ride, and run.
Epilepsy affects millions, and Sudden Unexpected Death in Epilepsy (SUDEP) is a reality too many families face. Joanna was only 9 years old when she passed away in her sleep. Her family turned their grief into action, raising awareness and supporting those in need. Millions are affected with Eplilepsy around the world. Thousands die from SUEP.
Now, I invite you to join me in this mission. Join my team to help me fundraise or donate what you can today to help me reach my goal for 2025.
My name is Demokritos Papadavid. Born and raised in Paphos, Cyprus in March 1981. I am a primary school teacher and a father of two. I got into sports since a decade now and my first official run was Athens Marathon in 2011. Since then, I started a series of marathon, triathlon and other races consistently every year.
For many years now I am competing in Cyprus Federation events in short distances. The last 3 years I started competing in longer distances, half and full Ironman with best result in Bahrain 70.3 finishing with a time of 4:14.
How You Can Help: Donate here and know that no amount is too small—every euro makes a difference!
Together, we can turn awareness into action and support families who need us the most. Let’s make every race, every mile, and every heartbeat count.
